1. Manual or power

Power adds headrest, lumbar and USB on many models.A manual recliner uses a handle or push-back; a power recliner reclines with a button and stops at any angle, which matters if you have limited strength or want to nap with your feet up and your head level. Power needs an outlet within reach.

2. Rocker, wall-hugger or lift

Wall-huggers need only a few inches behind them.Rocker recliners rock while upright. Wall-huggers slide forward as they recline, so they sit close to a wall or in a corner. Lift chairs tilt the whole seat forward to help you stand; several are on our floor.

3. Size for the person and the room

Measure the reclined depth, not just the footprint.Oversized means a wider seat and a taller back; check the seat height against your knee and the reclined length against the space in front. Every product page lists the dimensions upright and reclined.

We deliver throughout South Jersey: Atlantic City, Ocean City, Cape May, Somers Point, Linwood, Margate, Ventnor, Galloway, Mays Landing and the Shore towns between. In-stock pieces are available for pickup or fast delivery.

Delivery is white-glove: our crew brings the piece in, sets it up in the room and takes the packaging away. Removal of old furniture or a mattress is available for a charge and has to be arranged when you schedule the delivery.

A recliner with a wider seat, a taller back and a heavier-duty mechanism than the standard chair in the same line. Makers label them oversized, big-and-tall or wide-seat; the product page gives the seat width and the weight rating where the maker publishes one.

How much space does a recliner need behind it?

A standard manual recliner needs roughly 18 to 30 inches of clearance behind it to recline fully; wall-hugger and many power recliners need only a few inches because they glide forward. The product page lists the reclined depth so you can measure.

Manual or power: which should I pick?

Power if you want to stop at any angle, need a headrest or lumbar adjustment, or have limited strength; manual if you want no cord and a lower price. Power chairs need an outlet within reach of the chair.

Do you sell lift chairs?
