How to choose a sectional, in the right order

1. Shape from the room

Measure the walls, then the door.A chaise or loveseat-chaise for most rooms; an L in three or four pieces for a family room; a U in five pieces for a big open room. Write down the wall lengths and the doorway, hallway and stair turns each piece has to pass.

2. Which way it faces

Left-arm or right-arm facing, seen from the front.Stand where you enter the room. The chaise or the corner should leave the walkway open and let people see the TV or the window from most seats.

3. Stock or custom

In stock ships now; custom is built in your fabric.Ashley and Benchcraft sectionals are in stock in fixed fabrics, many performance-grade, for pickup or fast delivery. Jonathan Louis, Bassett and England sectionals are built to order in the cover you choose.

4. Features

We deliver throughout South Jersey: Atlantic City, Ocean City, Cape May, Somers Point, Linwood, Margate, Ventnor, Galloway, Mays Landing and the Shore towns between. In-stock pieces are available for pickup or fast delivery.

Delivery is white-glove: our crew brings the piece in, sets it up in the room and takes the packaging away. Removal of old furniture or a mattress is available for a charge and has to be arranged when you schedule the delivery.

What sectional shapes are there?

Chaise sectionals (a sofa plus a chaise), loveseat-chaise for small rooms, cuddlers (a wide rounded corner seat), L-shaped sectionals in three or four pieces, U-shaped in five, plus sleeper, reclining and modular sectionals. Each has its own collection on this page.

How do I know which way the sectional should face?

Face the sofa from the front: the side the chaise or corner is on is its name, left-arm or right-arm facing. Choose the side that keeps the walkway open and the view of the TV or window from most seats. A designer will confirm it on your floor plan.

Which sectionals are in stock?

Many Ashley and Benchcraft sectionals are in stock for pickup or fast delivery; look for the in-stock badge. Jonathan Louis, Bassett and England sectionals in a custom cover are built to order and we give you the expected date when you order.

Will a sectional fit through my door?

Pieces travel separately, so compare each piece's depth and height on the product page with the door, hallway and any turn on the stairs. A Kensington designer checks the delivery path for free when you share the measurements.

Can I choose the fabric?

On Jonathan Louis, Bassett and England sectionals, yes: hundreds of fabrics and leathers, chosen from swatches on the floor. In-stock sectionals come in the fabric shown, often a performance fabric.

Can I add pieces to a sectional later?

If the line still offers the pieces in the same fabric, yes; individual sectional pieces are a collection above. Bring the model name and fabric tag and a consultant will check with the maker.

Where can I see sectionals in South Jersey?
