Room clearance

About 36 inches from the table edge to the wall or the next piece.That is the space a chair needs to pull out with someone in it. Measure the room, subtract 36 inches on each side you will seat, and what is left is the largest table that works.

Seats per length

Allow roughly 24 inches of edge per person.A 60-inch rectangular table seats six comfortably, a 72 to 84-inch table seats eight, and a leaf adds two seats per 18 to 24 inches. A 48-inch round seats four; 60 inches round seats six.

Shape

Round for square rooms, rectangular for long ones.Round and oval tables have no corners to walk into and keep a conversation together; rectangular tables seat more per foot of room. Extendable tables with leaves do both.

Height

Standard is about 30 inches; counter height about 36.Standard height works with any dining chair. Counter-height tables suit kitchens and casual rooms and pair with 24-inch stools; bar height is taller still. Buy the chairs to the table, not the other way round.

Delivery and pickup

We deliver throughout South Jersey: Atlantic City, Ocean City, Cape May, Somers Point, Linwood, Margate, Ventnor, Galloway, Mays Landing and the Shore towns between. In-stock pieces are available for pickup or fast delivery.

Delivery is white-glove: our crew brings the piece in, sets it up in the room and takes the packaging away. Removal of old furniture or a mattress is available for a charge and has to be arranged when you schedule the delivery.

Warranty by brand, as each brand publishes it

Dining tables carry their maker's warranty: Ashley's limited warranty by product type (finish 1 year), Bassett's published warranty for its wood and dining pieces, and Canadel's two-year warranty. Claims run through us as the dealer; full terms on each brand's site.

What size dining table seats six?
A rectangular table about 60 to 72 inches long, or a round table about 60 inches across, seats six comfortably at roughly 24 inches of edge per person. Add a leaf for two more at the holidays.
How much room do I need around a dining table?
About 36 inches from the table edge to the wall or the next piece of furniture, so a chair can pull out with someone sitting in it. On a side nobody sits, 24 inches is enough to walk past.
Should I buy a round or a rectangular table?
Round for a square room or a small one, because there are no corners and everyone faces each other; rectangular for a long room or a big family, because it seats more per foot. Oval and extendable tables split the difference.
What is the difference between standard, counter and bar height?
Standard dining tables are about 30 inches tall and take 18-inch-seat chairs. Counter-height tables are about 36 inches and take 24-inch stools. Bar height is about 42 inches with 30-inch stools. Chairs and stools are sold to match.
Which dining tables are in stock?
