Family-owned since 1912. One store at 200 Tilton Road, Northfield, NJ 08225. Questions about this piece: 609-241-0807.
Grain that runs over the edge of the top and straight down the drawer fronts — a waterfall detail — is what you notice on the Velora Desk, a 61-inch writing desk in white oak under Universal's soft Velora finish. It is 28 inches deep and 30 tall, with three drawers across the front.
Sixty-one inches is wide enough for two screens or a screen and a notebook; 28 inches deep keeps it clear of most window sills, and 30 inches is standard desk height for a chair with a seat of 17 to 19 inches. It is the office piece of the Velora collection, which otherwise lives in the bedroom and living room, so a desk in a Margate bedroom can match the Velora Dresser and nightstands without looking like office furniture.
