Family-owned since 1912. One store at 200 Tilton Road, Northfield, NJ 08225. Questions about this piece: 609-241-0807.
Leather, not wood, covers the Lira Dresser: the case and all six drawer fronts are wrapped in Universal Grey leather, with Antique Silver hardware, on a compact 52-inch-wide, 19-inch-deep, 38-inch-tall frame. It is the one piece in the Mist & Veil line with no oak showing, designed in High Point, North Carolina.
Leather gives a dresser a softer, more upholstered presence than a wood case, and the gray reads as a neutral between the Mist and Veil finishes, so it goes with either bed. At 52 inches it is a dresser for a smaller wall or a second dresser in a large room; the 38-inch height takes the Soft Bronze Mirror, whose textured metal face suits a leather case better than a plain oak frame would. A design consultant can show you comparable Universal pieces at the store.
