Family-owned since 1912. One store at 200 Tilton Road, Northfield, NJ 08225. Questions about this piece: 609-241-0807.
Twelve drawers across a 70-inch case, 42 inches tall and 21 deep: the New Lou Drawer Dresser is the biggest storage piece in Universal's New Lou bedroom. A felt-lined jewelry tray insert sits in the top center drawer, the bottom drawers have cedar bottoms, and the drawers at either end open by finger grooves rather than pulls, so the Antique Bronze hardware runs down the center of the Cognac-finished front.
Twelve drawers sorts a wardrobe the way a closet does — socks, shirts, sweaters, each in its own — and for two people sharing one dresser, each gets a side. Forty-two inches is tall enough that the Vertical Storage Mirror above it hangs at eye level. In a primary bedroom in Margate, with the Dressing Chest handling the hanging clothes, this handles everything folded.
