Family-owned since 1912. One store at 200 Tilton Road, Northfield, NJ 08225. Questions about this piece: 609-241-0807.
A woven Danish cord back on a swivel base is what sets the Dockside Swivel Counter Stool apart from the abaca version: the frame is natural sandblasted quartered oak in Universal's Dockside finish, the seat is Nomad Snow, a Crypton performance fabric, and a brushed stainless steel toe plate takes the footrest wear. Seat height is 24 inches; the stool is 19 wide, 23 deep and 38 tall.
The swivel matters at an island where people turn to talk to the room, and the cord back is open enough to keep three or four stools from walling off the kitchen. It matches the Dockside Chair at the dining table, which carries the same Danish cord weave, so the kitchen and the dining room in a Northfield open plan can share one look. The Oasis group is Universal's Coastal Living Home Collection.
