Family-owned since 1912. One store at 200 Tilton Road, Northfield, NJ 08225. Questions about this piece: 609-241-0807.
Danish cord, woven across the back of a sandblasted oak frame, gives the Dockside Chair its texture; the seat is Nomad Snow, a Crypton performance fabric, and the frame carries Universal's Dockside finish. It is the side chair of the Oasis dining room — 21 inches wide, 23 deep, 34 tall, with the seat at 19 inches.
Six of them around the 86-inch Dockside Dining Table, or four with two Dockside Arm Chairs at the ends, is a table for everyday; the cord back is lighter than a solid splat and lets a row of chairs breathe. The Dockside Swivel Counter Stool has the same back for the kitchen. The Oasis group is Universal's Coastal Living Home Collection, and the Crypton seat is the reason it survives a house full of guests.
