Family-owned since 1912. One store at 200 Tilton Road, Northfield, NJ 08225. Questions about this piece: 609-241-0807.
Reeded door fronts — fine vertical ribs cut into the Cocoa finish — give this Montclair Cocoa Chest its texture. Behind the two doors are two adjustable shelves, in a case 42 inches wide, 19 deep and 36 tall. It is a door chest rather than a drawer chest: closed storage at a height that works as a server, a hall cabinet or a tall nightstand.
Universal lists it for the living room, and that is where it earns its keep — beside a sofa as a cabinet for games and chargers, or under a window with a lamp on top. In a dining room the shelves hold platters. The reeding repeats on the 78-inch Cocoa Credenza, so the two can share a room.
Ask a consultant in our Northfield showroom to compare it with the five-drawer Cocoa Chest. Ask our team about white-glove delivery (delivery fee applies) or pickup at the store.
Not sure it fits through the door or up the stairs? Will it fit? Our delivery guide

Most Universal collections include coordinating pieces — beds, nightstands, dressers, tables and seating designed to work together. A design consultant can show you what's available in the current line.
Coastal Living is a licensed collection designed with Coastal Living magazine and built by Universal — relaxed, light, shore-house styling across bedroom, dining and living room pieces.
Universal designs each collection as a set, so the nightstands, dressers and chests share the bed's finish and hardware. A design consultant can confirm which pieces coordinate.
