Family-owned since 1912. One store at 200 Tilton Road, Northfield, NJ 08225. Questions about this piece: 609-241-0807.
Bilma Natural fabric on the headboard, Brindle-finished wood on the frame and drawers in the footboard: the Brindle Upholstered Storage Bed is the most complete bed in Universal's Birchaven collection. The footboard drawers run on soft-close guides and hold what a blanket chest would. The queen is 66 inches wide and 86 long; the king is 82 inches wide; headboard height is 58 inches. Both sizes are built for a mattress only — no box spring.
For a primary bedroom in Linwood where closet space is the constraint, this is the bed that earns its footprint. Add the Brindle three-drawer nightstand, which has cedar-lined drawer bottoms and a USB, a USB-C and two outlets, and the 66-inch six-drawer Brindle dresser.
Our Northfield showroom has comparable Universal beds to try, and the Mattress Store inside it runs a 7-minute pressure-mapping test. We offer white-glove delivery (delivery fee applies), or you can pick up at the store.
