Family-owned since 1912. One store at 200 Tilton Road, Northfield, NJ 08225. Questions about this piece: 609-241-0807.
Finished in Universal's Brindle tone, a deep, warm finish that lets the grain show, the Brindle Panel Bed is the quiet anchor of the Birchaven bedroom. The headboard is a plain, substantial panel with no carving or applied trim, and the footboard stays low enough to keep the room open. The queen frame measures 68 inches wide, 87 inches long and 54 inches tall at the headboard, and it is designed for a mattress only — no box spring needed, so a thicker mattress sits at a comfortable height.
Birchaven is Universal's transitional collection. On the Brindle side it pairs with the Brindle nightstands, the three- or six-drawer Brindle dressers and the eight-drawer Brindle chest; if you prefer the lighter look, the same collection comes in Willow.
You can see comparable Universal beds in our Northfield showroom, where the Mattress Store has a 7-minute pressure-mapping test to match a mattress to a platform frame like this one. White-glove delivery is available (delivery fee applies).

This listing is the queen: 68 inches wide, 87 inches long and 54 inches tall at the headboard.
No. Universal designs this bed for a mattress only, so the mattress sits directly on the frame.
Brindle is the deep, warm finish in Universal's Birchaven collection; Willow is the light one. The two are designed to mix in the same room.
The Birchaven Brindle nightstands — the two-drawer with an open shelf at 32 inches wide, or the three-drawer at 28 inches. Both have a USB port, a USB-C port and two outlets built in.
This listing is the queen; our team can confirm other sizes in the Birchaven collection when you order.

Yes. Any standard mattress in the right size works. The Mattress Store inside our Northfield showroom has a 7-minute pressure-mapping test to help you choose.
Universal designs each collection as a set, so the nightstands, dressers and chests share the bed's finish and hardware. A design consultant can confirm which pieces coordinate.
