Family-owned since 1912. One store at 200 Tilton Road, Northfield, NJ 08225. Questions about this piece: 609-241-0807.
Eight drawers on soft-close guides, the bottom row lined in cedar, and a removable black felt-lined jewelry tray in each of the two top drawers — the Brindle Chest is where the Birchaven collection puts its construction detail. The case is 56 inches wide, 19 deep and 52 tall in Universal's Brindle finish: a tall chest rather than a dresser, so it uses wall height instead of wall width.
It stands in for a dresser in a room that only has a narrow wall, or joins the six-drawer dresser in a large primary bedroom so two people have their own storage. The cedar drawers are for sweaters and wool; the trays handle watches and jewelry so the drawer tops stay clear.
Our design consultants in Northfield can help you plan the storage for the whole room. Ask our team about white-glove delivery (delivery fee applies) or pickup at the store.

Most Universal collections include coordinating pieces — beds, nightstands, dressers, tables and seating designed to work together. A design consultant can show you what's available in the current line.
Coastal Living is a licensed collection designed with Coastal Living magazine and built by Universal — relaxed, light, shore-house styling across bedroom, dining and living room pieces.
Universal designs each collection as a set, so the nightstands, dressers and chests share the bed's finish and hardware. A design consultant can confirm which pieces coordinate.
