    What does “left-arm facing / right-arm facing” mean?

    Those terms describe orientation when you face the piece. If the armrest is on your left as you face it, it’s “LAF” (left-arm facing); if on your right, “RAF.” In Modmax 4-piece chaise, you’ll see LAF corner chaise and RAF corner chair (or vice versa, depending on configuration).

    How deep are the seats? Is the chaise long enough to stretch out?

    The overall depth of the chaise portion is ~68″ in many listings, giving a generous lounge area.The regular depth of chairs is ~37″ depth for armless / corner units in many specs.

    Will it sag or lose shape over time?

    The platform foundation that Ashley uses is claimed to resist sagging about 3× better than sinuous spring systems after extended testing cycles, thanks to more even support.

    That said, under heavy use (e.g. children jumping, static pressure), cushions and seat structure will naturally soften over years. Rotating cushions, avoiding extreme stress, and light maintenance will help prolong shape.

    Is the upholstery durable and easy to clean?

    Yes, performance polyester fabric (like Next-Gen Nuvella) is designed for family life — soft but stain-resistant, with some models offering removable, zippered covers for machine washing. The manufacturer suggests mild soap + water, air drying. For tough stains, a diluted bleach solution is sometimes recommended (if the fabric is colorfast).

    Does the console have additional features?

    Yes, the console includes a removable plexiglass top (so you can safely put drinks) and a pull-out drawer for storage. In some of the higher-tier Modmax variants, the console includes built-in audio (Bluetooth or wired), USB charging, etc.

    What is the warranty / guarantee?

    Can I order alternate fabrics or colors?

    Some lines may allow alternate upholstery or colors, but Modmax is often advertised in its stock “performance fabric” options. Ask your Ashley rep whether customization is possible in your market.

    Will cushions shift, gap, or slide?

    Loose / reversible cushions may shift over time. For best results, rotate, realign, and occasionally lift or adjust them. Some users add non-slip fabric or grippers under cushions to reduce shifting (a trick sometimes shared in user forums).

    Do I need a protection plan or fabric warranty?

    Yes, it’s strongly recommended, especially for households with kids, pets, or frequent entertaining. A 3‑ to 5‑year protection plan (covering stains, structural support, fabric wear, etc.) helps reduce returns and dissatisfaction over time.

    How can customers extend the life of the sectional?

    Rotate cushions periodically to balance wear.

    Vacuum / brush the upholstery to remove dirt or grit that can break down fabric.

    Blot (don’t rub) spills immediately, using recommended mild cleaners.
