Talalay latex is the airier, more pillowy of the two natural latex types, and in a pillow it does something useful: it adapts to the shape of your head and neck and then recovers, night after night, without packing down. The Avocado Pure Talalay Luxury Pillow puts a solid Pure Talalay core inside a GOTS-certified organic cotton cover and offers it in two feels. Soft is a lower, lighter pillow for stomach sleepers and anyone who likes a plush, airy pillow; Medium is taller, for back and combination sleepers who want moderate support.
Each core goes through a nine-point firmness test and an infrared scan before it leaves the factory, which is why one Medium feels like the next. The finished pillow is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified. It comes in Standard/Queen and King.
It is the pillow Avocado pairs with its Luxury Organic mattresses; ask to try that combination at The Mattress Store inside our Northfield showroom.
Not sure it fits through the door or up the stairs? Will it fit? Our delivery guide
Soft if you sleep on your stomach or like a low, airy pillow; Medium if you sleep on your back or change positions and want steadier head support. The Soft measures about 4.5 inches thick, the Medium about 5.75.
Natural latex made by the Talalay process, which produces a lighter, springier, more open-celled latex than Dunlop. It is the same material Avocado uses in the box-top of its Ultra Plush mattresses.
Yes. A solid Talalay core recovers after every night rather than compressing like fiber or shredded fills, so you do not fluff it.
Standard/Queen, which fits standard and queen pillowcases, and King.
Wash the organic cotton cover; the latex core is spot-clean only. Keep it out of direct sunlight, which ages natural latex.
Yes. Avocado is carried at The Mattress Store inside our Northfield showroom; ask our team which Avocado models you can try in the store before you decide.
Pillows and pillowcases come in Standard, Queen and King; mattress protectors and sheets follow the mattress size. If you are matching an Avocado mattress on this site, pick the same size here.
Follow the care label on the item: Avocado's organic cotton sheets, pillowcases and protectors machine wash in cold or warm water with a mild detergent and no bleach, and most prefer a low tumble or line dry. Pillows and toppers are spot-clean only.
Yes. Avocado's pillows, protectors, sheets and toppers carry GOTS certification for the finished product, and most are also certified to MADE SAFE and GREENGUARD Gold standards — the same programs that cover the mattresses.
