How Canadel UDesign works

Start from the room

Bring the room's measurements and how many people sit down on a holiday. Allow 24 inches of table edge per person and 36 inches of clear floor around the table; the consultant turns that into a shape and a length, with or without leaves.

Choose the wood, the finish, the edge

Canadel's collections (Canadel, Champlain, Downtown, Gourmet, Loft, Modern and Accent) each have their own woods, finishes, leg styles and edges. In the UDesign configurator the table is built on screen as you pick, and the samples on our wall show what the screen cannot.

Chairs, benches, island, then the order

Match or contrast the chairs, add a bench, a buffet or a kitchen island in the same finish, and the configuration is priced on the spot. Canadel then hand-assembles and hand-finishes the order; we give you the expected date and deliver and set it up.

Booking, delivery and the design center

Delivery and pickup

We deliver throughout South Jersey: Atlantic City, Ocean City, Cape May, Somers Point, Linwood, Margate, Ventnor, Galloway, Mays Landing and the Shore towns between. In-stock pieces are available for pickup or fast delivery.

Delivery is white-glove: our crew brings the piece in, sets it up in the room and takes the packaging away. Removal of old furniture or a mattress is available for a charge and has to be arranged when you schedule the delivery.

Canadel's warranty, as Canadel publishes it

Canadel warrants its materials and workmanship for two years following delivery to the retailer, for the original consumer at the original delivery location. Floor models and commercial use are excluded, and transit damage must be claimed within 10 days of delivery. Where can I buy Canadel furniture in New Jersey?
At Kensington Furniture in Northfield, an authorized Canadel dealer with a Canadel design center inside the store. Canadel sells only through dealers and builds each piece to order, so you design the table here rather than buy one off a shelf.
Why are there no Canadel products for sale on this website?
Because every Canadel piece is configured before it is built: shape, size, wood, finish, edge, chairs and fabric. There is no fixed product to list. You design it with a consultant at our Canadel design center, or start online in UDesign and bring the design to us for pricing.
What is Canadel UDesign?
Canadel's configurator. You choose the collection, then the table shape and size, the wood and finish, the leg style and edge, and the chairs, benches or island to go with it, and see the result built on screen. At Kensington the consultant runs it with you against the samples on the wall.
Where is Canadel furniture made?
Canadel is a family-owned company founded in 1982 by the Deveault family, still run by the second and third generations. Its furniture is hand-assembled and hand-finished in its own factory and, in Canadel's words, proudly made in North America.

How long does a Canadel order take?
Canadel builds each order after it is placed, so the time depends on the collection and the finish. We give you the expected date when you order and call to schedule delivery when the pieces arrive.

Can I get a Canadel kitchen island or a bench?
Yes. Islands, benches, buffets and chairs are configured in the same finish as the table, in the collections that offer them (the Gourmet collection in particular builds islands).
