From the Newsroom to the Showroom: Dan Grossman Comes Home to Tell Kensington's Story Some stories you cover. Others you come home for. For 13 years, Dan Grossman was a TV news anchor and reporter — hurricanes, elections, live shots in snow goggles, and a blooper reel to prove it. Then, a few months ago, his phone rang. It was his uncle Michael, fourth-generation owner of Kensington Furniture, with a simple ask: come home and tell the story of the family furniture business that's been part of South Jersey for more than a century. So that's exactly what he's doing. Dan will be the first to admit he only has half of this figured out. Finding a story and telling it? Thirteen years in newsrooms taught him that. The algorithm, the shorts, the whole social media side of it? That part he's learning on the fly — and he's not pretending otherwise, which is exactly why we think you'll enjoy watching. What he's building is a series that shows Kensington like you've never seen it before: the people behind the store, the community around it, and the South Jersey that helped shape it — the shore towns, the traditions, the faces you know from down the street. That last part matters, because Kensington's story was never just about furniture. Since 1912, the store has grown up alongside Atlantic County — from its early days in Atlantic City to its longtime home on Tilton Road in Northfield — and most of the milestones along the way belong to the families who shopped here just as much as to the family behind the counter. It's going to be real. It's going to be South Jersey. And it starts now. New videos are coming over the next few months, and we'll share each one right here on the blog — so check back, or follow along on our channels.
